Services / 361P0992638 03 Modular ICS 6.0 Installer GuideSee Ringing service on page 357 for descriptions of the threeactivation settings.See Restrictions under both Terminals&Sets and Linesto assign dialing restrictions for telephones, lines and remoteusers to the schedules.Routing serviceThe programming for routing decides what path an outgoingcall takes using the digits that are dialed. It is sometimes calledAutomatic Route Selection (ARS).When you select an internal line and dial, the numbers youenter are checked against the routing tables. If the number youdialed starts with a destination code, the system uses the linepool and dials out digits specified by the route assigned to thatdestination code, and then dials the rest of the number that youdialed.Tips - A schedule must be active for overflow routing to bein effect. Overflow routing is not available in normal mode. You must create an overflow route to be used with eachdestination code. In this way, every route used with ascheduled mode that has overflow service must have analternate route in normal service.Plan your routing service before doing anyprogramming.Routing affects every call placed in the systemand must be carefully planned to avoid conflictsand gaps in the programming. Use the tables intheProgramming Record to design routes anddestination codes, then check for potentialproblems before you start programming.
