By registering adestination with a one-touch dial button, paper documents can be convertedinto data and sent simply by touching a button in the One-Touch screen.In order to perform a Scan to SMB operation, a shared folder must bespecified in advance on the computer where the data is to be received.- Data cannot be saved in shared folders created on the domain controllerof Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.- The original document is sent as an image file in the TIFF format or PDFformat.- You can specify that an e-mail message be sent to notify the recipient ofthe location where the data was saved when the Scan to SMB operationis complete (E-mail Notification function).- Images in the TIFF format can be viewed with a TIFF viewer, which isstandard in Windows.- Images in the PDF format can be viewed with Adobe Reader.- This machine must be connected to a LAN, and the network settingsmust be specified.
