EnglishChapter 4 - Basic Operations 35Chapter 4 - Basic OperationsPreparing documents• Try to use good quality documents for your transmissions.Documents that are typed or created in felt-tip black ink on white (orlight) paper work best.• Do not send documents which are not rectangular.• Never use documents that have wet or sticky surfaces, wrinkles,staples or paper clips. However, your fax machine can transmitdocuments that have been subject to normal wear, such as documentswith staple holes, letter folds and minor corner folds.• If you are not sure how a document will fax, try making a copy firston your fax machine (load the document face down and press theCOPY key).• If your documents are very creased, torn, or crinkled, make a copy ona photocopier and send the copy instead. You can also use aphotocopier to enlarge or reduce documents before sending.Document sizeAll documents must have a minimum width of 148 mm and a minimumlength of 128 mm. Documents cannot be wider than 216 mm or longerthan 356 mm.Multiple page documentsYour fax machine can scan paper with a base weight between 60 gsm and105 gsm. You can load up to 20 sheets of standard 80 gsm paper (e.g.photocopier paper) at the same time. If you use a heavier paper, you canload up to 15 sheets. For very heavy paper, manually load sheets and sendpages sheet-by-sheet.When loading several pages for transmission, paper thickness should bebetween 0.08 mm and 0.13 mm. For single page transmission, paperthickness can be between 0.06 mm and 0.15 mm.
