If your browser fails to connectto the print server, the browser may be trying to openmore than two connections. Please refer to yourbrowser’s Help files for information on changing theconnection settings. Both Netscape Navigator andMicrosoft Explorer for the Macintosh and Power PCwill sometimes display a failure to connect messageafter being configured for only two connections.Should this occur, select OK to bypass the errormessage. The menu page will still be displayed andconfiguration can be completed.• Quickly refreshing a page within some browsers cancause the browser to leave active connections openwith the server called a hung connection. This willuse up one of the HTTP connections, can causeproblems connecting to the server and will slowdown Web response time. If TCP timeout checkingis enabled under TCP/IP configuration, the hungconnection will timeout after the timeout period hasexpired.Login• If you forget the administrator password, restoringthe TCP/IP protocol to factory defaults from anyother configuration utility restores the Web adminname and password to default values.Configuration• Web browsers will generally cache previouslyviewed Web pages on the local machine. To view themost current print server information, it is a goodidea to select the Reload or Refresh button on yourbrowser instead of using the Back button.
