62Still-picture editing/slow-motion editing1 Set the IN point and OUT point of VTR1 (player) atthe same position.After VTR1 has been selected using the VTR1button, press the MARK IN and MARK OUTbuttons together to set the IN point and OUT pointat the same position.2 Select VTR2 using the VTR2 button, and set the INpoint and OUT point of VTR2 (recorder)respectively.Even when only the IN point is set, open-endedediting is possible.3 Select VTR1 (player), and turn the search dial torun the tape at the actual desired speed.In the case of still-picture editing, set the speed to0a (SHTL 0, STILL).The slow-motion speeds that can be selected are0a, 0.03a, 0.1a, 0.2a, 0.3a and 0.43a (forwarddirection).4 Press the AUTO EDIT button to proceed withediting. The speed of VTR1 (player) when theAUTO EDIT button was pressed is captured, andslow-motion editing is executed.O Still-picture editing or slow-motion editing ispossible when the OPERATION MODE switch hasbeen set to INT.O In the case of slow-motion editing, no guaranteesare given for the editing accuracy.TC jump functionNormally, editing cannot be performed properly ifthere is any discontinuity in the time codes during thepreroll period.However, if the TC jump function is used, the prerollperiod can be edited using CTL as the reference, andthe edit memory period after the IN point can beedited using the time code as the reference.The counter display shows the time code at all times,and even if there is discontinuity in the time codesduring the preroll period, editing can be performed asif the time codes were continuous.1 Select VTR1, VTR2 or ALL as the setup menu itemNo.571 (TC JUMP) setting.(This selects the VTR or VTRs which will be usedfor the TC jump function.)2 Proceed with normal editing.When the TC jump function is used, the tape is cuedup to the IN point during preview, automatic editing orreview, and then preroll is commenced.
