2.1 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS32 INSTALLATION2.1 SAFETY PRECAUTIONSPlease read the following precautions before installing the VPS.2.1.1 InstallationThe VPS needs to be installed on the wall. Improper placement of the system may result inmalfunction, noise, or discoloration. Avoid installing the VPS in the following places:• in direct sunlight; in hot, cold, or humid places• in new areas where there are thermal springs, etc. (where sulfuric gas may damage theequipment or contacts).• where shocks or vibrations are frequent or strong.• in dusty places or places where water or oil may come in contact with the unit.• near high frequency generating devices such as sewing machines, elevators or electricwelders.• on or near computers, telexes, or other office equipment; near microwave ovens or airconditioners. (Ideally, the VPS should not be in the room with these items and should beat least 1.8m {6 feet} away from televisions.)Do not obstruct the areas around the PBX and the VPS.
