It introduces the menu interface and describes how toperform basic configuration for common LAN and WAN environments. Italso describes basic operations such as resetting the IAD and logging off.In many cases, all the information you need to get an IAD up and running isincluded in this single chapter. In most installations, you will proceed throughthese topics in order. If your situation varies, you will find more detailedinformation on installation, connection, configuration, and troubleshooting inthe chapters that follow this Quick Start Guide.Unpacking the IADEach IAD is packed and shipped in a durable container. Unpack and carefullyremove the IAD from the package and packing material.IAD PackageComponentsEach IAD is shipped with the components listed below. As you unpack them,note their condition and identity and compare the list with the packing list inthe package.• AC power adapter and cord (6 feet long), or AC power cord• Agency Compliance information sheet• Ethernet cable (straight through), 7 feet long• WAN cable, 7 feet longIf you note any visible damage or missing components, notify the shippingcompany immediately to make a damage claim. Contact the company fromwhich the IAD was purchased (Paradyne, or an authorized distributor) toobtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) for return of damagedequipment or to order missing components.NOTICE: Paradyne suggests you keep the shipping container and packingmaterial for future storage or shipping of the unit.
