1072Basic Operations2.3Canceling Sleep ModeTo save power, the printer is switched to the sleep mode (power saver mode) if it does notreceive print data for a certain period of time.By default, the printer is switched to the sleep mode if it does not receive print data for 15minutes. You can set whether the sleep mode is enabled or not and, if enabled, the durationof time until the printer is switched to the sleep mode between 15 to 240 minutes. The powerconsumption in sleep mode is 4 W or less. The transition time from the sleep mode to thestandby mode is about 30 seconds.If the printer in the sleep mode receives print data, it is automatically released from the sleepmode and starts printing.●The sleep mode is indicated as [Power Saver mode] on the control panel of the printer.●For information about the procedure for changing the settings of the sleep mode, refer to “Example: Changingthe power saver mode settings” (P.159).●This printer has the low-power mode besides the sleep mode. The low-power mode automatically decreases thetemperature of the fuser unit to save power consumption if the printer does not receive print data for about 15minutes. The status of the printer in the low-power mode and the procedure to cancel the mode are the same asthe sleep mode. You cannot change the settings of the low-power mode.Canceling Sleep ModeThe printer is automatically released from the sleep mode when it receives datafrom the computer. You can also cancel the sleep mode manually by pressingthe button on the control panel.
