For informationabout problems in other environments, refer to the Network Print EnvironmentGuide (network.pdf).For Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows Me■When Printing Is DisabledThe table below lists actions to be taken when you click [Printers] in [Settings] ofthe [Start] menu, and the printer status appears as [Unable to print (NetworkError)] in the window displayed.Cause Verification ActionThe printer and hostdevice are connected todifferent networks.Check with the network systemadministrator to verify that thenetwork connecting the hostdevice with this printer is linkedby a router or gateway.Connect this printerdirectly to the network byconnecting the hostdevice.An error has occurred inthe network between thehost device and thisprinter, and the connectioncannot be established.[Unable to print (Network Error)]is displayed.Ask the network systemadministrator to check thenetwork for errors.Incorrect IP address forthis printer is entered.[Unable to print (Network Error)]is displayed. Select [Properties]from the [File] menu of theprinter icon, and then select[Port Settings] on the[Advanced] tab. Compare the IPaddress in the [FX TCP/IPDirect Print Utility Port Settings]dialog box with the IP address inthe [System Settings List] (forhow to print the [SystemSettings List], refer to “7.4Printing Report/List” (P.253)).Enter the correct IPaddress specified for thisprinter in the [IP Address]text box of the [FX TCP/IPDirect Print Utility PortSettings] dialog box.This printer is switched offafter a print instruction issent from the computer, ora print instruction is sent tothis printer while it isswitched off.[Unable to print (Network Error)]is displayed.
