When phantom power is ON,phantom power is provided to the XLR jacks of bothINPUT A and INPUT B.1 When the recorder is stopped, press the PHANTOMbutton to open the PHANTOM screen.2 Press the F4 (ON) button to turn phantom powerON. The indicator above the PHANTOM buttonlights, and the Home Screen reopens.To turn phantom power OFF, press the F1 (OFF)button instead.The following screen appears whenever phantompower is being turned ON or OFF.NOTEThe screen above appears when phantom power is beingturned ON or OFF. No other operations can be conductedwhile this message is shown. Other operations will bepossible after this message disappears and the HomeScreen reopens.CAUTIONTurn the master fader down before turning phantom•power ON or OFF. Depending on the mic, a loud noisecould occur, damaging equipment and harmingpeople’s hearing.Do not connect or disconnect a mic when phantom•power is ON. This could cause a loud noise and damageequipment.Turn phantom power ON only when using a condenser•microphone that requires phantom power.Do not supply phantom power to an unbalanced•dynamic microphone. Doing so could break it.Supplying phantom power to some types of ribbon•microphones could break them. Do not supplyphantom power to a ribbon microphone if you are indoubt.Monitoring input signalsTo monitor an input signal press the REC button for thetrack set to record that signal. That track’s REC indicatorwill light/blink.NOTEWhen the unit is playing back, both the playback signaland the input source signals are mixed and output throughthe PHONES and LINE OUT jacks and can be heard withconnected headphones and monitoring systems.6 – Basic Recording
