Operating Instructions431. Raise the body.2. Pull up on each transaxle lockout arm and moveback to engage the step that holds the arm inthe UP (unlocked) position.3. The mower will “freewheel” with the arms in theLOCKOUT position. The levers must be in thehighest position to completely unlock the transaxles.Transaxle Lockout ArmTransaxle Lockout Arm - Freewheel Position4. After moving the mower, release the arms, placing them down in the normal OPERATING position. The transaxle lockout arm ends should becom pletely retracted against the chassis, otherwise operation of the transaxle may be erratic.Transaxle Lockout ArmTransaxle Lockout Arm - Normal OperatingPositionRECOMMENDATIONS FOR MOWINGDANGERDo not mow around overhanging treebranches or bushes at the same height asthe operator’s torso and head where inad-vertent contact may cause injury.Avoid Low Hanging BranchesIMPORTANT: Operate the engine at full throttlewhen mowing, to allow the engine to produce fullhorsepower and to increase efficiency of the enginecooling system.● Keep the mower deck and discharge shieldclean.● Mow with sharp blades. A dull blade tears thegrass (resulting in poor lawn appearance) anduses extra power (slowing the mowing speed).● It is preferable to cut grass when it is dry andnot too tall. Mow frequently and do not cutgrass too short. (For best appearance, cut off1/3 or less of existing grass height.)
