If you confirm these items are set up correctly and receptionsare still unsuccessful, call for technical support.The sending procedurewas completed correctlybut nothing happened atthe receiving end.• Is the remote machine able to communicate with aG3 facsimile? The WorkCentre can communicatewith G3 facsimiles but not G2 or G4.Documents cannot betransmitted overseas.• Set the Fax Speed to transmit the document at aslower speed. See “Setting up the Phonebook”.Problem Check ItemsWhen you are to receive adocument via the ManualReception mode, the fax isnot received when theStart key is pressed.• Did you return the handset to its cradle beforepressingStart? If so, you must pressStart beforeyou hang up.• Is there a document in the Document Tray on yourmachine? If so, remove it by pressing theStop key.• Is the modular cord connected?• Is the power cord connected?• Does the Paper Tray have paper?• Is the Top Cover fully closed?• Is there an error on the sending machine?The received fax will notfeed out.• Is the Top Cover fully closed?• Is the Right Side Cover fully closed?After placing paper in thePaper tray, the PaperEmpty message continuesto display.• Is the paper installed correctly? See “Replacing thePaper”.The received document istoo dark and difficult toread. Unnecessary linesare printed.• Is the original document on the sending side of poorquality? Check with the remote station.• Is there a problem with the remote machine?• Does the same problem happen when you copy adocument? If so, clean the Recording Unit.
