The section below explains how to administer JobAccounting using the DDS User Interface.Creating User AccountsBefore job accounting can be fully used, the Job Accounting Mode must beenabled, and at least one valid job account must be created. This is donethrough the ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION menu screen. Refer to themenu tree to navigate to this screen.Press the Menu key to gain access to the menu structure.Press the Next key or the Previous key to scroll through the choices at anylevel. Press the Enter key to confirm a selected choice.Enter the System Administration password when requested.Navigate to the ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION screen.Accounts may be created manually, using the DDS User Interface, or bymeans of a formatted file loaded from a disk.Creating accounts manuallyFrom the ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION screen, choose CREATEACCOUNTS. The CREATE ACCOUNTS screen is displayed.To create an account, enter a unique account number between 1 and999999. If the account is to have a subaccount, enter a <.>, then asubaccount number between 1 and 9999. Then press the Enter key tocreate the account. If the proposed account number is allowable, themessage, ACCOUNT CREATED is displayed.If there is a problem, an error message will be displayed. The possible errormessages are:• INVALID ACCOUNT. The proposed account number is not within theallowed range. Try a different number between 1 and 999999.• INVALID SUBACCOUNT. The proposed subaccount is not within theallowed range. Try a different subaccount number between 1 and 9999.• ACCOUNT MAX EXCEEDED. There are already 100 accounts in use.Delete an existing account; then try again.• SUBACCOUNT MAX EXCEEDED. There are already 20 subaccounts inuse with this account number. Delete an existing account/ subaccountcombination; then try again.• DUPLICATE ACCOUNT. The account already exists.
