Typically,the problem is seen in documents that are stored rolled up and not flat.Solutions:a. Place the lead edge beyond the gap between the feed tray and thedrive roll area, and then insert the document into the feed rolls.b. Roll up the document in the reverse direction to remove the curl,then unroll the document and feed it again.Images have gray areas caused by folds in the documentSome relatively stiff documents with creases or folds will lift off the platenglass, causing a gray area to appear in the image at the location of the fold.Refold the document in the reverse direction so that the creases becomeflat. Then feed the document again.An Error message is displayed.Find the error message in the table on the next page, and perform theCorrective Action indicated. If the corrective action does not solve theproblem, call for service.
