For more information,see “Getting Started Wizard Settings” on page 43.Before You Begin To setup the Webcache for management, you must correctly configure itwith the following information. Ensure that you have this information forthe Webcache ready before you begin. An IP address — for more information, see “IP Addresses” onpage 45. A subnet mask — for more information, see “Subnets and Using aSubnet Mask” on page 46. A default router address — for more information, see “DefaultRouter” on page 46. A Domain Name System (DNS) server address — for moreinformation, see “Domain Name System” on page 47. A Network Time Protocol (NTP) address — for more information,see the “System Time” chapter on page 67. You can choose to enterthe system time manually instead of using NTP. A Host Name — The Host Name is combined with the DomainName System domain to give the internet name of the Webcache.The host name is the name of the Webcache within the local domain. A Domain Name System (DNS) domain — The Domain NameSystem domain is combined with the Host Name to give the internetname of the Webcache. The domain name is a grouping of computerswith related properties. For example you might group all computers inyour company in the domain mycompany.com.ExampleThe internet (DNS) name webcache.mycompany.com is formed bycombining the Host Name webcache with the DNS domainmycompany.com. A Caching Mode — for more information, see “Deploying theWebcache in Your Network” on page 33. A Caching Port Number — The Caching Port Number is the port onwhich the Webcache will listen for traffic. The default number is 8080.The caching port number is only required if you set the Caching Modeto “Proxy Mode”.
