In Internet Explorer, select Tools -> Internet Options ->Connections -> LAN Settings and disable Use a Proxy Server. In Netscape, select Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Proxies and select DirectConnection to the Internet.Proxy AutoConfiguration (PAC)File ScriptsYou can use a Proxy Auto Configuration (PAC) file to configure the Webbrowser on each client machine. PAC files allow you to createconfiguration rules that determine how the Web browser operates whenthe Webcache is being deployed as a Proxy cache. The PAC file can bestored either on the Webcache or a network server, and the Web browseris set to read the PAC file when it is opened. The main disadvantage of PAC files is that the PAC file is read once whenthe Web browser is first opened, and then executed within the browserfor every object within every Web page visited. This can cause a perceivedresponse time degradation, although the performance degradation islikely to be small.
