Only the ADT SIA format can be used via theAC Communicator module. The FOCUS 200 PLUS can be programmed to transmit reports to the central station using the ACCommunicator module alone, or using the module as the main communicator and using the built-indialer as a backup communicator. The system will automatically switch over to the built-in dialer whenit detects that the output of the module is faulted. Regardless of which mode is selected, the system canbe downloaded via the built-in dialer.AC Communicator SupervisionThe AC Communicator module connects to the FOCUS 200 PLUS system via the J6 connector. Boththe control unit and the module supervise the connection. The system polls the module every 45seconds and provides a COMM FAIL indication if it does not get a response from the module. The module will transmit a COMM FAIL report (NYC) to the central station if it has not been polled bythe system within a 45-second period, and sends a COMM FAIL RESTORE (NYO) when normal pollingresumes. The module may also be programmed to supervise its connection to the central station. Thesystem provides a COMM FAIL indication if the module has not been polled by the central stationwithin a programmable time period. When the built-in dialer is not enabled as backup for the AC Communicator module, the systemprovides a COMM FAIL indication on its operating panels after the module has failed to transmit areport to the central station. When the built-in dialer is enabled, the system provides a COMM FAILindication after both the module and built-in dialer fail to transmit the report.Installing the AC Communicator ModuleMounting the AC ModuleThe AC Communicator module mounts to the FOCUS 200 PLUS’ main PCB, using 3 standoffs(supplied). This is the same mounting arrangement as that used for the 472402A backup dialer. The system supports either the AC Communicator or the backup dialer, not both.
