Thefield toggles between LM (Local Management) and UPS (UninterruptiblePower Supply).The UPS setting allows the COM port to be used to monitor an AmericanPower Conversion (APC) Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).The baud rate setting for LM is automatically sensed. For UPS, the baudrate is automatically set to 2400.The default setting is LM. For details about how to configure the COMport for various applications, refer to Section 5.7.10.Clear NVRAM (Toggle)Allows the user to reset NVRAM to the factory default settings. Alluser-entered parameters, such as IP address and Community Names, arethen replaced with 2E43-51 default configuration settings. For details,refer to Section 5.7.11.IP Fragmentation (Toggle)Allows the user to enable or disable IP Fragmentation. The default settingfor this is field is ENABLED. If the 2E43-51 is to be bridged to an FDDIring, IP Fragmentation must be enabled. If IP Fragmentation is disabled,all FDDI frames that exceed the maximum Ethernet frame size arediscarded. For details on enabling IP Fragmentation, refer toSection 5.7.12.5.7.1 Setting the IP AddressTo set the IP address, perform the following steps:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the IP Address field.2. Enter the IP address into this field using Dotted Decimal Notation(DDN) format.For example: 134.141.79.1203. Press ENTER. If the IP address is a valid format, the cursor returns tothe beginning of the IP address field. If the entry is not valid, the screendisplays the message “INVALID IP ADDRESS OR FORMATENTERED”. Local Management does not alter the current value andrefreshes the IP address field with the previous value.
