1-10 Motor ConstructionSelect the motor construction type.Option: Function:[1] PM, nonsalient SPMUse for non-salient PM motors.[2] PM, salientIPMUse for IPM motors, interior-mounted magnet.PM motors are divided into 2groups, with either surface-mounted (SPM)/non-salientmagnets or interior-mounted (IPM)/salient magnets.[5] SynRM Use for synchronous reluctancemotors.NOTICEThis option has the followingfirmware version limitations:• Version 4.2x andearlier – do not usethis option. There is arisk of damage to thefrequency converter.• Version 4.3x – usethis option only whenflying start is enabledinparameter 1-73 FlyingStart.[6] PMaSynRM Use for PMaSynRM, PermanentMagnet assisted synchronousreluctance motors.1-11 Motor ModelOption: Function:Automatically sets the factory values for theselected motor. If the default value Std.Asynchron is used, determine settingsmanually according to the selectionparameter 1-10 Motor Construction.[1] Std.AsynchronDefault motor model when [0] Asynchron isselected in parameter 1-10 Motor Construction.[2] Std. PM, nonsalientSelectable when [1] PM, non-salient SPM isselected in parameter 1-10 Motor Construction.[10] DanfossOGD LA10Selectable when [1] PM, non-salient SPM isselected in parameter 1-10 Motor Construction.Only available for T4, T5 in 1.5–3 kW (2.0–4.0hp). Settings are loaded automatically for thisspecific motor.[11] DanfossOGD V210Selectable when [1] PM, non-salient SPM isselected in parameter 1-10 Motor Construction.Only available for T4, T5 in 0.75–3 kW (1.0–4.0 hp). Settings are loaded automatically forthis specific motor.3.3.4 1-14 to 1-17 VVC+ PMThe default control parameters for VVC+ PM motor controlcore are optimized for applications and inertia load in therange of 50>Jl/Jm>5. Jl is load inertia from the applicationand Jm is machine inertia. For low inertia applications (Jl/Jm<5), it is recommendedthat parameter 1-17 Voltage filter time const. is increasedwith a factor of 5–10. Sometimes, parameter 14-08 Damping Gain Factor should also bereduced to improve performance and stability. For high-inertia applications (Jl/Jm>50), increaseparameter 1-15 Low Speed Filter Time Const. andparameter 1-16 High Speed Filter Time Const. to improveperformance and stability. For high load at low speed (<30% of rated speed), it isrecommended that parameter 1-17 Voltage filter time const.is increased due to non-linearity in the inverter at lowspeed.1-14 Damping GainRange: Function:120 %* [0 - 250 %] The damping gain stabilizes the PMmachine to run the PM machinesmooth and stable. The value ofdamping gain controls the dynamicperformance of the PM machine.High damping gain gives lowdynamic performance, and lowdamping gain gives high dynamicperformance. The dynamicperformance is related to themachine data and load type. If thedamping gain is too high or low,the control becomes unstable.1-15 Low Speed Filter Time Const.Range: Function:Sizerelated*[0.01 - 20 s] High-pass filter damping timeconstant determines the responsetime to load steps. Obtain quickcontrol through a short dampingtime constant. However, if this valueis too low, the control becomesunstable. This time constant is usedbelow 10% rated speed.1-16 High Speed Filter Time Const.Range: Function:Sizerelated*[0.01 - 20 s] High-pass filter damping timeconstant determines the responsetime to load steps. Obtain quickcontrol through a short dampingtime constant.
