IntroductionPage 6 Level-4 – This type of user can be created only by the installer. Alevel-4 user is able to update the firmware and language files at thecontrol unit using the web interface.A level-4 user cannot set or unset the system, and is able to use theuser menu only to change their own name and access code (to accessthe web interface).User access codesTo set or unset the system or access the user menu, a user must identifythemselves either by entering a valid access code at a keypad or bypresenting a proximity tag. Access codes and proximity tags are unique toeach user and can be used interchangeably at any time.Users can also use a remote control to set or unset the system, or tooperate outputs (depending on how the system is configured). The access code for the default master user is specified by the installerduring system installation. It is recommended that you change thisaccess code as soon as possible after system installation (see page26).Code lockoutsIf a user has problems remembering their code, or has acquired anunrecognised proximity tag, they may try keying in their code or presentingthe tag several times. If this happens four times in a row, the control unitlocks all keypads for 90 seconds and starts a "Excess Keys" tamper alarm. If configured, the control unit also sends the event to the Alarms ReceivingCentre (ARC).Once 90 seconds has elapsed, the keypads allow users to try again. If anincorrect code or tag is used again, the keypad lock them out for a further90 seconds, and so on.Installer accessThe installer has their own access code to access the installer menuoptions for system configuration. There is only one installer access code. It cannot be used to set or unsetthe system or to access the user options.Note: The installer may be able to configure your control unit remotely overthe internet using the web interface. You can enable/disable this featurefrom the User menu (page 37).
