Hard Disk Drive Boot ErrorA hard disk drive boot error (error codes I999030X) can be caused by thefollowing:Cause ActionsThe start-up drive isnot in the bootsequence inconfiguration.Check the configuration and ensure the start-up driveis in the boot sequence.No operating systeminstalled on the bootdrive.Install an operating system on the boot drive.The boot sector on thestart-up drive iscorrupted.The drive must be formatted, do the following:1. Attempt to access and recover (back-up) thefailing hard disk drive.2. Using the operating systems programs, formatthe hard disk drive.The drive is defective. Replace the hard disk drive.File EditorThe File Editor is an ASCII text editor that uses simple function keycommands. To access the File Editor:1. Select File Editor from theUtility Menu; then press Enter.2. Insert a diskette into Drive A or Drive B before selecting the file youwant to edit, then select the file you want to edit from the Files selectionbox.3. Make your changes. The arrow keys move the cursor, and the functionkeys perform search and block editing functions. (See “File EditFunction Key Usage.”)4.
