Make sure that the fan cable sits in the channel on the side of the fan.b. In the location from which you removed the failed fan, route the fan cableinto its slot in the fan bracket top.c. Insert the fan into the bracket.d. Make sure that each of the grey soft tabs on the fan is fully seated in its slotin the fan bracket.3. Connect the replacement fan cable to the system board (see “System-boardinternal connectors” on page 14 for the locations of the fan cable connectors onthe system board).4. Install the DIMM air baffle (see “Installing the DIMM air baffle” on page 133).5. Install the cover (see “Installing the cover” on page 130).6. Slide the server into the rack.7. Reconnect all external cables and the power cord.8. Turn on all attached devices and the server.Removing an optional IBM ServeRAID-MR10i SAS/SATA ControllerTo remove an IBM ServeRAID-MR10i SAS/SATA adapter, complete the followingsteps:1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”on page 127.2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords.Note: When you disconnect the power source from the server, you lose theability to view the LEDs because the LEDs are not lit when the power source isremoved. Before you disconnect the power source, make a note of which LEDsare lit, including the LEDs inside the server on the system board.3. Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 130).4.
