Make sure that the power-control button is working correctly:a. Disconnect the server power cord.b. Reconnect the power cord.c. If the problem remains, replace the operatorinformation panel.v If the server does not start, bypass the power-control button by using theforce power-on jumper (see “Internal LEDs, connectors, and jumpers” onpage 14). If the server starts, reseat the operator information panel. If theproblem remains, replace the operator information panel.2. Make sure that the reset button is working correctly:a. Disconnect the server power cord.b. Reconnect the power cord.3. Make sure that:v The power cords are correctly connected to the server and to a workingelectrical outlet.v The type of memory that is installed is correct.v The DIMMs are fully seated.v The LEDs on the power supply with the Active Energy Manager (AEM)feature do not indicate a problem (see “Power-supply LEDs” on page 75).v (Trained service technician only) The microprocessor is correctly installed.4. Reseat the following components:a. DIMMsb. (Trained service technician only) Power-supply cables to all internalcomponentsc. (Trained service technician only) Power switch connector5. Replace the following components one at a time, in the order shown, restartingthe server each time:a. DIMMsb. Power supplyc. (Trained service technician only) System board6. If you just installed an optional device, remove it, and restart the server. If theserver now starts, you might have installed more devices than the power supplysupports.7.
