5-6 Installing the Operating System with Express SetupWindows Server 2003Express Setup can install Windows Server 2003 operating system. However, note the followingissue:IMPORTANT: Before starting the installation, complete all the process of addingthe optional device and the setup of Express server mainframe(BIOS and optional board specification) The document for installing Windows Server 2003 is also attachedto the other software package which is sold separately from NEC,but refer to this document when you install Windows Server 2003on this model. After completing Express Setup, see "Setup for Solving Problems"described later to specify the settings for trouble recovery such as"Specifying Memory Dump".Installing on the Mirrored VolumeIf you want to install Windows Server 2003 on the volume that is mirrored using "DiskManagement", invalid the mirroring before operating the installation to set back to the basic disk,and valid the mirroring again after the installation has completed.Creating, invalid, delete mirror volume can be operated from "Disk Management" in "ComputerManagement".Connecting MO DeviceIf you operate installing Windows Server 2003 with MO device connected, the installation may notbe completed normally. In such case, detach MO device and then re-install the system from thebeginning.Media such as DATDuring the OS installation, do not attach the unnecessary media for OS installation to the system,such as DAT.Connecting Hard DiskConnect the hard disk that OS is not going to be installed after installing OS.NOTE: If you connect the N8103-81F/N8103-90 board as a data disk,clear disk array controller's configuration information before youperform the Express Setup.The process for clearing configuration information is described in themanual attached to the N8103-81F board.
