4SETTINGS AND PROGRAMMING REQUIREDFOR THE NETWORK SCANNER FEATURETo use the Network Scanner feature, settings for the SMTP server, DNS server, and destination addresses must beestablished.To establish the settings, use a computer that is connected to the same network as the machine to access themachine's Web page. The Web page can be displayed with your Web browser (Internet Explorer 5.5 or later(Windows)/5.1 or later (Macintosh), or Netscape Navigator 6.0 or later).ACCESSING WEB PAGESUse the following procedure to access the Web pages.1 Open the Web browser on your computer.Supported browsers:Internet Explorer 5.5 or later (Windows)/5.1or later (Macintosh)Netscape Navigator 6.0 or later2 In the "Address" field of your Web browser,enter the IP address of the machine as aURL.Input the IP addresspreviously specified inthis product.If you do not know the IPaddress, see page 51.When the connection is completed, the followingWeb page will appear in your Web browser.ABOUT THE WEB PAGEWhen you access the Web page in the machine, the following page (user screen) will appear in your browser.A menu frame appears on the left side of the page. When you click an item in the menu, a screen appears in the rightframe that allows you to establish settings for that item.For overviews of each of the menu items, refer to chapter 3 of "Printing operation manual".For detailed explanations of the procedures for establishing settings, click "General" and "Document Filing" under"Help"in the menu frame.Web PageTo use the network scanner function, you must store transmission destinations (pages 5 - 6) and program yoursender's name (page 6).The administrator must configure network scanner settings (page 7) on the administrator screen.Menu frameClick the menu items displayedhere to configure thecorresponding settings.DestinationStore, edit and deletetransmission destinations.SenderStore, edit and delete senders.Admin ModeDisplay the administrator screen.You must input the user nameand password for administrator.
