- 38 -1 1. Convenient Print FunctionsEncrypted Secure PrintingYou can encrypt your documents before sendingthem from a computer to the printer. Thatway, you can prevent unauthorized access toconfidential information.The document remains unprinted and stored inan encrypted format on the SD memory cardin the printer until you enter the registeredpassword at the operator panel.The print job stored on the SD memory card isautomatically deleted after printing or if it is notprinted for more than a certain period of time.If an error occurs when the data is sent or if anunauthorized person is detected trying to accessthe job, it is automatically deleted.Note● The period of time a printer is turned off is not included inthe storage period of the SD memory.● If a printer turned off automatically through the sleepmode, the period of time a printer had been in the sleepmode is not included in the storage period of the SDmemory card.● If the spooled data cannot be stored in the SD memorycard because of a memory shortage, a message indicatingthat the data is invalid appears.● If the spooled data cannot be stored in the SD memorycard because of a memory shortage, a message indicatingthat the data is invalid appears and the print job does notstart. In this case, shortening the storing period of a printjob specified in a printer driver prevents spooled datafrom increasing.● This function is not available with the Windows XPSprinter driver and the Mac OS X PS printer driver.● You cannot use this function with the poster printing modeand the booklet mode with the Windows PCL printer driverif you share the printer with a print server.● When you use this function, clear the [Give Priority tothe host release] check box.
