1The batteryChargingBefore using the battery, fully charge it with the ACadapter.Keep a spare battery with you.1 Align the battery with the marking onthe AC adapter, place it flat, and slide it inthe direction shown below.You cannot charge the battery if the DC cordis connected to the DC OUT connector, sodisconnect it first. Plug the AC cord into the power outlet.The POWER lamp and CHARGE lamp onthe AC adapter light, and charging begins.If the CHARGE lamp does not light whenattached, detach the battery and then attachit again.CHARGEPOWERWhen the battery is charged, the CHARGElamp on the AC adapter goes out. The camera-recorder itselfalso becomes hot during use.The recordable time reduces if you repeatedlystart and stop recording.Discharge the battery before storing it. Whenstoring it for an extended time, charge it atleast once a year, use up its charge in thecamerarecorder, and then store it again.If the battery is extremely hot or cold, theCHARGE lamp will blink several times beforecharging starts.If the CHARGE lamp continues to blink evenwhen the battery temperature is normal, theremay be something wrong with the battery orAC adapter. Contact your dealer.The battery takes longer to charge when it iswarm.The AC adapter can interfere with radioreception so keep radios at least 1 meteraway from it.The AC adapter may make some noise whenyou are using it, but this is normal.You cannot charge the battery whensupplying power to the camera-recorder fromthe AC adapter.Operation of battery pack CGR-D16 (1600mAh) (sold separately) is not guaranteed.•••••••••••••
