Shooting9Synchro scanSet the shutter speed of the synchro scan (usedwhen shooting a television or computer monitor) inthe setup menus, SCENE FILE screen, SYNCROSCAN. (Page 97)Adjust the shutter speed to match the frequencyof the television or computer monitor to minimizethe horizontal noise that appears when shootingsuch subjects.When the OPERATION TYPE option in theSCENE FILE screen (Page 97) is set to FILMCAM, the shutter opening angle can be adjustedfrom 10° to 360° in 0.5° steps.Example: When the recording frame rate is set to25 fps and the exposure time is halved, 1/25 ÷2 =1/50 = 180° (1/25 = 360°)In the default setting (180°), this becomes 1/2 ofthe exposure time. If it were 90°, it would be 1/4,and if it were 45°, it would be 1/8 of the exposuretime.(Shutter opening angle: This is equivalent to theshutter speed of a film camera, and a wider angleresults in a longer exposure to light.)If the shutter speed is displayed in bluecharacters followed by (1/50), you cannot changethe shutter speed in the blue characters while thecurrent recording format is used. The speed isfixed at (1/50).You can change the progressive mode inthe setup menu with REC FORMAT in theRECORDING SETUP screen. (Page 103)•••
