34 I-Class4.1 The Menu SystemPrinter operation can be controlled through the user interface, allowing theoperator access to these six menu system branches:• Media Settings• Print Control• Printer Options• System Settings• Communications• DiagnosticsWhile in the menu system, the current selection will be indicated with anasterisk (*) next to the displayed item on the LCD. Selections designated with asection symbol (§) will require a printer reset before becoming effective. A resetwill be automatically invoked when exiting the menu system and answering‘Yes’ to the ‘Save Changes’ prompt. Changes made will be saved. When poweris removed, the new settings will be restored upon power-up.The same functional commands from your host computer may, in some cases,override the printer’s menu settings. In addition, as a security feature for theprevention of accidental or unauthorized changes, the menu system has apassword protection feature.˛ Note: In the following subsections, the factory default settings are denotedwith the ‘≤’ symbol. Selections denoted with a diamond (♦) can onlybe changed through the menu system - all other selections can beoverridden by host software commands.
