I-Class 795.2 Printhead Replacement˛ Note: Printheads are fragile; use extreme care when handling and never usea sharp object on the surface. If you have questions, contact aqualified technician or Datamax Technical Support before proceeding.To replace the printhead:å Touch a bare metal part of the printer’s frame to discharge any staticelectricity that may be present on your body.ç Turn ‘Off’ and unplug the printer.Open the access cover; if ribbon isinstalled, remove it.é With the printhead locked in thedown position, loosen thePrinthead Mounting Screw (it willremain in the assembly).è Rotate the printhead latch forward. While holding the Printhead, raise theassembly. Disconnect the two Cables and then remove the old Printhead.ê While carefully holdingthe new Printhead,connect both Cables.ë Position the Printheadonto the Locating Pins inthe Printhead Assemblyand secure in place withthe Printhead MountingScrew (do not over-tighten). Please note thata printhead alignment isnormally not required.í Clean the Printhead; see Section 5.3.1.ì Reload ribbon (if removed), lower the printhead assembly, and rotate theprinthead latch back, into the locked position. Plug in and turn ‘On’ theprinter. Print a Validation Label (Section 4.3.5) and if necessary, adjust thePrint Control/Custom Adjustments/Darkness setting (Section 4.1.3) so thatthe print contrast produced by the new printhead matches the previous one.
