ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)4-716. Turn the main switch to “ON” while operatingthe brake lever and the brake pedal simulta-neously.TIP• This check cannot be performed unless boththe brake lever and the brake pedal are oper-ated simultaneously when the main switch isturned to “ON”.• Do not push the “ ” side of the start/enginestop switch when turning the main switch to“ON”, otherwise the operation test will not be-gin.7. Check:• Hydraulic unit operationWhen the main switch is turned to “ON”, asingle pulse will be generated in the brake le-ver “1”. After the pulse is generated in thebrake lever, it is generated in the brake pedal“2” twice.TIPA single pulse will be felt in the brake lever once, then in the brake pedal twice. The second per-son should confirm that the rear brake force isreleased during the second pulse in the brakepedal, third pulse overall, by manually applyingforce to rotate the rear wheel. If the rear brakeforce is released during the second pulse in thebrake pedal, the second person will be able torotate the rear wheel for 0.1 second.NOTICEECA3P6D019• Check that the pulse is felt in the brake le-ver once, and then in the brake pedal twice.• If the pulse is felt in the brake pedal beforeit is felt in the brake lever, check that thebrake hoses and brake pipes are connectedcorrectly to the hydraulic unit assembly.• If the rear brake force is not released duringthe second pulse in the brake pedal, butduring the pulse in the brake lever or duringthe first pulse in the brake pedal, check thatthe brake hoses and brake pipes are con-nected correctly to the hydraulic unit as-sembly.• If the pulse is hardly felt in either the brakelever or brake pedal, check that the brakehoses and brake pipes are connected cor-rectly to the hydraulic unit assembly.• If the operation of the hydraulic unit is normal, delete all of the fault codes.Hydraulic unit operation test 2WARNINGEWA13120Securely support the vehicle so that there isno danger of it falling over.1.
