Install the crankshaft journal lower bearings“3” into the lower crankcase and assemblethe crankcase halves.TIP• Align the projections “c” of the crankshaft jour-nal lower bearings with the notches “d” in thelower crankcase.• Do not move the crankshaft until the clearancemeasurement has been completed.f. Tighten the bolts to specification in the tight-ening sequence cast on the crankcase.Refer to “CRANKCASE” on page 5-76.g. Remove the lower crankcase and the crank-shaft journal lower bearings.h.
