Remove:• Upper ring nut “1”• Lock washer• Center ring nut• Rubber washer• Lower ring nut “2”• Steering columnWARNINGEWA18010Securely support the steering column sothat there is no danger of it falling.TIPRemove the upper ring nut and lower ring nutwith the steering nut wrench “3”.EAS30214CHECKING THE STEERING HEAD1. Wash:• Bearings• Bearing races2. Check:• Bearings• Bearing racesDamage/pitting → Replace.3. Replace:• Bearings (steering column)• Bearing races (steering column)▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼ ▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼a. Remove the bearing races from the steeringhead pipe “1” with a long rod “2” and hammer.b.
