FUEL TANK7-2EAS30450REMOVING THE FUEL TANK1. Extract the fuel in the fuel tank through thefuel tank filler hole with a pump.2. Disconnect:• Fuel pump coupler “1”• Fuel sender coupler “2”3. Remove:• Fuel hose connector cover “3”4. Disconnect:• Fuel hose “4”WARNINGEWA18020Cover the fuel hose connection with a clothwhen disconnecting it. Residual pressure inthe fuel lines could cause fuel to spurt outwhen removing the hose.NOTICEECA21750• Be sure to disconnect the fuel hose byhand. Do not forcefully disconnect thehose with tools.• Although the fuel has been removed fromthe fuel tank, be careful when removing thefuel hose, since there may be fuel remain-ing in it.• Do not disconnect the fuel hose from thefuel hose connector. Disconnect the con-nector from the fuel pump.TIPBefore removing the hose, place a few rags inthe area under where it will be removed.5. Remove:• Fuel tankEAS30451REMOVING THE FUEL PUMP1. Check:• Fuel filterDamage → Replace.Contaminants → Clean with solvent.EAS30456INSTALLING THE FUEL PUMP1. Install:• Fuel pump gasket• Fuel pump• Fuel pump bracketTIP• Do not damage the installation surfaces of thefuel tank when installing the fuel pump.• Always use a new fuel pump gasket.• Install the fuel pump as shown in the illustra-tion.• Align the punch mark “a” on the fuel tank withthe projection “b” on the fuel pump.• Align the projection “b” on the fuel pump withthe slot in the fuel pump bracket.• Tighten the fuel pump bolts in the proper tight-ening sequence as shown.EAS30457INSTALLING THE FUEL TANK1.
