PUTTING THE INSTRUMENT INTO OPERATIONCarl Zeiss Mounting Standard Components Axio Vert.A152 431030-7044-001 05/20123.1.10.3 Attaching the LED IlluminatorAttach the LED illuminator as a complete assemblyand replace it as a complete assembly when itsservice life has ended.• Insert the illuminator (Fig. 3-15/1) with itscontact pins into the slot (Fig. 3-15/2) on thecarrier, as far as it will go.• Fasten the illuminator to the carrier with twoscrews (Fig. 3-15/4).Be sure to screw the illuminator onfirmly for a long service life.If you employ the LED illuminator fortransmitted light illumination, youshould place the conversion filter inthe slider (Fig. 3-15/3) of the carrierfor reflected light. This will create theusual daylight impression during themicroscoping process. Without thatfilter, the image may appear slightlybluish on occasion.In order to avoid veiling glare during FL viewing, be sure to fit the supplied shutter plate inthe second position of the slider in the carrier to block the light path temporarily.Last Checking Step:Insert the three-pin plug of the transmitted light illuminator into the connector socketlocated at the back of the stand (or into the jacks marked TL on the Axio Vert.A1 MAT) andswitch the halogen lamp on.3.1.11 Attaching Illuminators for Reflected LightThe Axio Vert.A1 FL-LED stand comes with a fixed-mounted reflected light LED fluorescence illuminationprovided with four mounts for LED modules, which may be utilized at the user's option. The LED modulesare interchangeable. They can be put together and installed individually by the user. See Section 3.3.7.At the back, the Axio Vert.A1 FL and the Axio Vert.A1 MAT feature a port for the installation of reflectedlight illuminators. The various stands allow such illuminators as the HBO 50, HBO 100 or HXP 120C to beused for reflected light fluorescence and the VIS-LED attachment lamp or the HAL 100 illuminator to beutilized for material applications.Fig. 3-15 Attaching the LED Illuminator
