If a situation occurs that is not covered in this appendix,or if these recommendations do not correct the problem, contactAdaptec Technical Support.When the controller BIOS displays the hard drives during startup, a device fails toappear.The power cable or the interface cable may be loose or disconnected.Windows NT displays a blue screen error message that references the system videocontroller.The video controller fails to properly implement extended BIOS dataarea (EBDA) usage rules. Use SMOR to enable the EBDA Relocationoption.In addition to the Adaptec controller, the system contains another manufacturer’scontroller. During startup, the system hangs or one controller cannot communicatewith its attached drives.Perhaps the other controller does not correctly implement EBDAusage rules. Use SMOR to try a different setting for the EBDArelocation parameter or rearrange the controller slot assignments.Alternatively, if your system BIOS supports configuring the bootorder, you can also try changing those settings.
