Changes or modifications to this system by other thanan authorized service facility could void authorization touse this equipment.If there is a decrease in the keyless access transmitterrange, try this:• Check the distance. The transmitter may be toofar from the vehicle. It may be necessary tostand closer during rainy or snowy weather.• Check the location. Other vehicles or objects maybe blocking the signal. Take a few steps to theleft or right, hold the transmitter higher, andtry again.• Check the transmitter’s battery. See “BatteryReplacement” under Keyless Access SystemOperation on page 2-5.• Make sure that an electronic device such as acellular phone or lap top computer is not causinginterference.• If the transmitter is still not working correctly,see your dealer/retailer or a qualified technicianfor service.Keyless Access System OperationThe Keyless Access System transmitter functionswill work up to 195 feet (60 m) away from the vehicle.The Keyless Access System lets you lock andunlock the doors without removing the remotetransmitter from your pocket, purse, briefcase, etc.The keyless access transmitter must be within3 feet (1 m) of the door or trunk being opened.Keyless UnlockingPull the door handle to unlock and open the door(s)if the keyless access transmitter is within range.See Door Locks on page 2-13 for additional information.To customize which doors unlock when pulling the driveror passenger handle, see “Keyless FT (Front) DoorUnlock” and “Keyless Doors Unlock” under VehiclePersonalization on page 2-61 for additional information.Keyless LockingThe doors lock after several seconds if all doors areclosed and at least one keyless access transmitterhas been removed from the interior of the vehicle.To customize whether the doors automatically lockwhen exiting the vehicle, see ″Keyless Lock Delay″under Vehicle Personalization on page 2-61 foradditional information.2-5
