Programmable Automatic DoorLocksThe vehicle was programmed so when the doors areclosed, the ignition is on, and the shift lever is movedout of P (Park), all the doors will lock.The front doors can still be opened from the inside whilethe doors are locked. If a rear passenger needs to exit thevehicle, have that person use the manual knob or use thepower door lock switch on either front door. When thedoor is closed again, it will not lock automatically. Usethe manual knob or the power door lock switch to lockthe door.The doors were also pre-programmed to unlock everytime the shift lever is moved into P (Park).The power door locks can be programmed through theradio display. The radio display allows you to choosevarious lock and unlock settings. For more informationon programming, see Vehicle Personalization onpage 2-61.Rear Door Security LocksThe vehicle has rear door security locks to preventpassengers from opening the rear doors from the inside.Open the rear doors toaccess the security lockson the inside edge ofeach door.To set the locks, insert a key into the slot and turn it tothe horizontal position. The door can only be opened fromthe outside with the door unlocked. To return the door tonormal operation, turn the slot to the vertical position.2-14
