4-35Vehicle MessagesMessages are displayed on the DICto notify the driver that the status ofthe vehicle has changed and thatsome action may be needed by thedriver to correct the condition.Multiple messages may appear oneafter another.Some messages may not requireimmediate action, but you can pressSET to acknowledge that youreceived the messages and to clearthem from the display. Somemessages cannot be cleared fromthe DIC display because they aremore urgent. These messagesrequire action before they can becleared. You should take anymessages that appear on the displayseriously and remember that clearingthe messages will only make themessages disappear, not correct theproblem. You will find the possiblemessages that can be displayed andsome information about themgrouped by subject in the followinginformation.Battery Voltage andCharging MessagesBattery Saver ActiveThis message displays when thevehicle has detected that the batteryvoltage is dropping beyond areasonable point. The battery saversystem starts reducing certainfeatures of the vehicle that you maybe able to notice. At the point thatfeatures are disabled, this messageis displayed. It means that thevehicle is trying to save the charge inthe battery. Turn off unnecessaryaccessories to allow the battery torecharge.Low BatteryThis message is displayed when thebattery voltage is low. See Battery onpage 9-24 for more information.Service Battery ChargingSystemThis message is displayed whenthere is a fault in the battery chargingsystem. Take the vehicle to yourdealer/retailer for service.Brake System MessagesBrake Fluid LowThis message is displayed when thebrake fluid level is low. See BrakeFluid on page 9-23.Brakes OverheatedThis message is displayed when thebrakes are becoming overheated.You may see this when driving onhills.
