Unlocking a door anyother way will not disarm thealarm.If you set off the alarm by accident,turn off the alarm by pressing theunlock button on the transmitter. Thealarm will not stop if you try to unlocka door any other way.How to Detect a TamperConditionIf K is pressed and the horn chirpsthree times, an attempted break-inhas occurred while the system wasarmed.If the alarm has been activated, the“Theft Attempted” message willappear on the DIC. See Key andLock Messages on page 4-39 foradditional information.Intrusion SensorThe vehicle's intrusion sensormonitors the vehicle interior andprovides an alarm signal to the theftdeterrent module in the event of anunauthorized entry into the vehicle'sinterior. Do not allow passengers orpets to remain in the vehicle whenthe intrusion sensor is activated.Before arming the theft deterrentsystem and activating the intrusionsensor, do the following:• Make sure all doors, windows andthe sunroof (if equipped) arecompletely closed.• Turn off any fans or blowers.Moving air may trigger the alarm.• Be sure to secure any loose itemssuch as a sunshade or windowblinds.• Make sure there are noobstructions blocking the sensorsin the front overhead console.• Do not hang anything from therearview mirror.If any passengers must remain in thevehicle, they should lock the doorsfrom inside using the power door lockswitch after the doors have beenclosed. The intrusion sensor will notbe activated.Immobilizer OperationThis vehicle has a passivetheft-deterrent system.The system does not have to bemanually armed or disarmed.The vehicle is automaticallyimmobilized when the vehicle isturned off.The immobilization system isdisarmed when the pushbutton startis activated to enter theACC/ACCESSORY mode or theON/RUN/START mode and a validtransmitter is present in the vehicle.srx.book Page 18 Monday, June 8, 2009 8:28 AM
