52Periodically vacuum accumulated debris on the internal parts. Useelectrical cleaner for electrical parts as required.Power connections on newly installed starters may relax andloosen after a month of operation. Turn power off and retighten.Recheck annually thereafter.Recalibrate Pressure TransducersOnce a year, the pressure transducers should be checked against apressure gage reading. Check all eight transducers: the 2 oil differ-ential pressure transducers, the condenser pressure transducer, thecooler pressure transducer, and the optional waterside pressuretransducer pairs (consisting of 4 flow devices: 2 cooler, 2 condens-er). For details, see page 57.Optional Pumpout System MaintenanceFor pumpout unit compressor maintenance details, refer to the19XR Positive Pressure Storage System Installation, Start-Up, andService Instructions.OPTIONAL PUMPOUT COMPRESSOR OIL CHARGEUse oil conforming to Carrier specifications for reciprocatingcompressor usage. Oil requirements are as follows:ISO Viscosity 68 or 220Carrier Part Number PP23BZ103 or PP23BZ104The total oil charge is 13 oz. (0.5 L).Oil should be visible in the pumpout compressor sight glass bothduring operation and at shutdown. Always check the oil level be-fore operating the pumpout compressor. Before adding changingoil, relieve the refrigerant pressure through the access valves.Relieve refrigerant pressure and add oil to the pumpout unit asfollows:1. Close service valves 2 and 4.2. Run the pumpout compressor in Automatic mode for oneminute or until the vacuum switch is satisfied and com-pressor shuts off.3. Move the pumpout selector switch to OFF. Pumpout com-pressor shell should now be under vacuum.4. Oil can be added to the shell with a hand oil pump throughthe access valve in the compressor base.NOTE: The compressor access valve has a self-sealing fittingwhich will require a hose connection with a depressor to open.OPTIONAL PUMPOUT SAFETY CONTROL SETTINGS(FIG. 53)The optional pumpout system high-pressure switch opens at185 psig (1276 kPa) and closes at 140 psig (965 kPa). Check theswitch setting by operating the pumpout compressor and slowlythrottling the pumpout condenser water.Fig. 53 — Pumpout Control Box (Interior)Ordering Replacement Chiller PartsWhen ordering Carrier specified parts, the following informationmust accompany an order:• chiller model number and serial number• name, quantity, and part number of the part required• delivery address and method of shipment.CAUTIONThe motor leads must be disconnected from the starter beforean insulation test is performed. The voltage generated from thetester can damage the starter components.WARNINGThe disconnect on the starter/VFD front panel does not alwaysde-energize all internal circuits. Open all internal and remotedisconnects before servicing the starter. Failure to follow thisprocedure may result in personal injury by electric shock.WARNINGNever open isolating knife switches while equipment is oper-ating. Electrical arching can cause serious injury.CAUTIONLoose power connections can cause voltage spikes, overheat-ing, malfunctioning, or failures.a19-1569CONTACTORTERMINALSTRIP FUSESTRANSFORMERSWITCH
