8 What you need to know about SmartWire-DT8.5 SWD device parametersSmartWire-DT Gateway EU5C-SWD-EIP-MODTCP 08/17 MN120003Z EN www.eaton.com 918.5 SWD device parametersFor EU5C-SWD-EIP-MODTCP all device parameters are adjustable via SWDassist.A "required module" is a module for which the "Required module" deviceparameter = "1" so that it is enabled. The "All devices are optional" and "Required module" device parametersdefine whether there is a SmartWire-DT error when the actual configurationis different from the target configuration. The "Compatible devices permissible" and "Can be replaced with universalmodule" device parameters define whether there is a SmartWire-DT errorwhen the target configuration is different from the planned configuration."Replacement during operation permissible" device parameterThe "Replacement during operation permissible" device parameter makes itpossible to hot swap SWD modules block by block. In addition, the"Alldevices are optional" parameter must be set to "1". Otherwise, the entire linewill be disabled if communications with one or more SmartWire-DT modulesare lost. When "Replacement during operation permissible" is enabled, the Smart-Wire-DT coordinator will perform an automatic addressing routine if itdetects any differences between the target configuration and the actual con-figuration when comparing them. The comparison between the plannedSmartWire-DT configuration and the target configuration will continue to beperformed.ExamplesRemember that if "All devices are optional" is set to "1"and is enabled, theSWD line will continue to run even if a module on the line drops out - regard-less of whether "Replacement during operation permissible" is enabled ordisabled. When "Replacement during operation permissible"="0", this means that thedevice parameter is not enabled. If the module is replaced with an identicalmodule while the power is off, the target configuration will have to beimported again after the power is turned back on. The SWD line will not startrunning. In other words, the user is required to intervene. When "Replacement during operation permissible"="1", this means that thedevice parameter is enabled. If the module is replaced with an identical mod-ule while the power is off, a new target configuration will be automaticallyimported. If this imported target configuration matches the planned Smart-Wire-DT configuration, the SWD line will start running. The SWD line will alsoNOTICEHot swapping modules on the SWD line is only allowed in con-junction with the SWD4-FFR-PF1-1 power supply module andSWD4-FFR-ST1-1 cable adapter SmartWire-DT components.
