Use a soft metal drift to removethe pin, then remove the jib boom from theprimary boom.Crushing hazard. The jib boomcould become unbalanced and fallwhen removed from the machineif not properly attached to theoverhead crane.14 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the jibboom lift cylinder rod-end pivot pin. Do notremove the pin.15 Remove both of the jib boom leveling links fromthe primary boom.16 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead crane tothe lug on the rod end of the jib boom liftcylinder.17 Use a soft metal drift to remove the jib boom liftcylinder rod-end pivot pin, then remove the jibboom lift cylinder from the primary boom.Crushing hazard. The jib boomlift cylinder may becomeunbalanced and fall when it isremoved from the machine if it isnot properly attached to theoverhead crane.3-2Jib Boom Lift CylinderHow to Remove the Jib BoomLift CylinderPerform this procedure with theboom in the stowed position.When removing a hose assemblyor fitting, the O-ring on the fittingand/or hose end must be replacedand then torqued to specificationduring installation.Refer to Section Two, HydraulicHose and Fitting TorqueSpecifications.1 Raise the jib boom slightly and place blocksunder the platform mounting weldment forsupport. Then lower the jib boom until theplatform is resting on the blocks.Do not rest the entire weight of theboom on the blocks.2 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the jibboom lift cylinder rod-end pivot pin. Do notremove the pin.3 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from theplatform leveling slave cylinder barrel-end pivotpin.
