OPERATING THROUGH REPEATERSTRANSMITTER OFFSETSAli Amateur Radio voice repeaters use a separatereceive and transmit frequency. The transmit frequencymay be higher or lower than the receive frequency butthe difference in frequencies will be a standard amount,or "standard split". Most repeater configurations fall intoone of the fallowing categories:Offset; : TH-22A/AT/E |TH-42A/AT| TH-42EDirectionLom |me |temeN/A: Not applicableWhether using the VFO, Memory Recall, or the Callchannel, the transmit offset direction and amount can bechanged.SELECTING OFFSET DIRECTIONThis function sets the transmit frequency either higher(+) or lower (—) than the receive frequency by a fixedamount. Refer to "Selecting Offset Values Manually"{page 29} if you want to change the offset amount.Press [F], [REV].e The default is “simplex" (no offset).e Each time this key combination is pressed, the offsetchanges as follows:Simplex» + -» - <TH-22A/AT/E, TH-42A/ATSimpiex> + > —- > Ey]fiesta aslTH-42EIf the offset transmit frequency falls outside the transmitband, transmit is inhibited until the transmit frequency isbrought within the band by one or more of the followingmethods:e Move the receive frequency further inside the band.e Reduce the offset amount ("Selecting OffsetsManually" {page 29}).e Reverse the offset direction.27
