For example, the usermust be a member of a non-restricted group such as Power Users orAdministrators. (The Users Group restricts a user from installingprograms.) This limitation applies to Windows XP for first-timeinstallation only, not for upgrades.• Restricted Windows users cannot launch Smart Agent.Note When creating users, Microsoft Windows sets the groupmembership, by default, to Restricted User. If a user logs in as aDomain User, that user might be assigned to the Users Group andhave restricted rights to the local computer. A user must haveStandard user rights on the local computer to launch Smart Agent.• Users should close supported applications before installing orupgrading Smart Agent. Phone numbers are not clickable in thoseapplications until they have been restarted.• Users who see the Internet Explorer message “A Runtime Error hasoccurred.” need to disable script debugging. To do that, go to theInternet Explorer window, choose Tools > Internet Options, and clickthe Advanced tab. Under Browsing, select the checkbox for DisableScript Debugging (Internet Explorer).• The Smart Agent interface on a user’s computer provides thefollowing information which can help you troubleshoot connectionproblems:– Syslog ViewerRight-click the Smart Agent icon in the system tray and chooseConnection Log to view system messages.– Connection Properties dialog boxRight-click the Smart Agent icon in the system tray and chooseProperties to view information such as the Smart Agentconnection state and the Application Gateway IP address.
