114 Océ 9600 Copier/Printer User ManualIntroductionThe controller applications of the Océ 9600 (Queue Manager, System ControlPanel and Settings Editor) are also delivered as remote versions. This means that users can access one or more Océ 9600 systems from their owncomputer. Anonymous users can view the status of both their jobs (QueueManager) and the entire system (System Control Panel). This way they can, forinstance, determine which queue is shortest and send their jobs there to avoidlengthy delays. From a management point of view, the availability of remote versions of theapplications is quite useful as well. They allow key operators and systemadministrators to manage multiple Océ 9600 systems from a single location. They can centrally monitor the system status and identify potential problemswithout having to work at the controller itself. The remote versions are almost identical to the local applications, which areinstalled on the controller. The only difference is that an anonymous user canonly use the ‘Abort’ button of the Queue Manager and the ‘Shut down’ optionon the System Control Panel when he is working locally. The key operator, system administrator and repro operator can access these functions remotely, from their own PC.
