InitializingThis section explains how to initialize an SD memory card and flash memory, and how to reset theequipment settings to their defaults.You can delete data or settings stored on the machine to restore the settings at the time of purchase.Note In the default settings, [Initialize] cannot be selected because [Initial Lock] is set to [Enable]. [Set [Initial Lock] to[Disable] in [Storage Maintenance Setup]. For details on the initial lock, refer to "Management" P. 97.Memo [In order to access the [Admin Setup] menu, an administrator password is required. The default password is "aaaaaa".Initializing an SD memory card(for MB491/ES4191 MFP Only)Carry out initialization of an SD card wheninserting a card that has either been used inother equipment or when it has not beenproperly recognized.An SD memory card is used as a storage forspooling when copying sectors, saving secureprint/ encrypted print data, form data andmacros. Initialization deletes stored data.An SD memory card has three partitions. Theyare PS, Common, and PCL. When initialized, it isdivided into partitions again.
