Running the tests is an importantpart of ensuring that the system is working correctly.Note: Because resolving an issue often involves complex technicalprocedures, such as removing and replacing FRUs, and becauseverification tests often require preparation and trainedinterpretation of results, it is recommended that a CSE performthe tests. There are four types of verification test that help diagnose problemswith the library:• Install Test on page 623• Smaller library configuration requires about 1 hour and the largerconfigurations require as long as 6 hours to run the Install Test.Partial Test on page 623• FRU Test on page 623• Custom Test on page 624These verification tests provide the following:• Fully automated tests• Tests to determine problems with installation• Detailed problem analysis• Full system tests or individual field replaceable unit (FRU) tests• Logs of installation and configuration tests• Graphical reports showing passed and failed results• No affect to integrity of dataTo perform these tests, the accessor assembly must be ready andfunctional, and the library must be powered on. In addition, the librarymust be in an offline state, and at least one scratch tape must beinserted in the I/E station.
