60 ST70+ User Reference ManualCleaningCAUTION: Avoid damage when cleaningDo NOT use a dry cloth the display screens with as this could scratchthe screen coating.Do NOT use chemicals or abrasive materials to clean ST70+ products.Periodically clean your ST70+ displays and keypads with a soft, damp cloth.CablingPeriodically examine all cables for chafing or other damage to the outer shield, andwhere necessary, replace and re-secure4.3 TroubleshootingIn the unlikely event that you encounter problems using your ST70+ display, use thissection to resolve the situation.First considerationsIf your ST70+ system is not performing as you think it should, be sure you areoperating it correctly as described in the ST70+ Operating Guide.Then:• Ensure that any data you think may be missing is available on your boat. Forexample, if you do not have a wind transducer, then there will be no wind-relateddata.• Take into account any changes that may have been made to the electrical systemaboard your boat. Such changes could affect the performance of your ST70+ sys-tem.• Be aware that radio signals transmitted nearby (for example from another boat orshore station) could affect the performance of your ST70+ system.If you are satisfied that the problem is not due to any of the above, use the proceduresbelow to isolate the cause of the problem.ProceduresAs your ST70+ displays rely on the satisfactory operation of other, external products,first use the following table to eliminate possible external cause, before investigatingfaults on the ST70+ system itself.Symptom Possible cause/remedyDisplay is blank No power.
