52 TASCAM DP-327 - Recorder FunctionsReturning to zero or the lastrecording positionYou can easily jump to the beginning of a song(00:00:00:00 = ZERO point) or to the last recordingposition (LAST REC point) by using two buttons at once.To return to the beginning of a song (00:00:00:00 = ZEROpoint), press and hold the STOP (8) button and press theREW (m) (TO ZERO) button.To return to the last recording position (LAST REC point),press and hold the STOP (8) button and press the F FWD(,) (TO LAST REC) button. This function is useful whenyou want to record again after finishing recording.Fast forwarding and rewindingDuring playback or when stopped, press the REW (m)or F FWD (,) button to rewind or fast-forward whilethe button is pressed. The rewind and fast-forward speedis fixed at 10 times normal speed.Cueing with the JOG/DATA dialYou can use the JOG/DATA dial to jog to a preciseplayback position. There are two ways to cue by jogging:while viewing a track's waveform and while listening tothe audio of tracks.Jogging while viewing a waveform1. Use the transport buttons or other locate functionsto move the playback position near the positionwhere you want to cue playback.2. Press the JOG PLAY button to enter jog mode.If in timeline display mode, press the F1 key to switchto waveform display.3. Press the SELECT button for the track that you wantto view.The waveform of the selected track appears.If a stereo track is selected, the displayed track (oddor even) changes each time the SELECT button ispressed, and you can monitor only the displayed track.4. Use the CURSOR (g/t) buttons to increase/decrease the horizontal zoom (time) as necessary.Press the CURSOR g button to decrease thehorizontal zoom (time), or the CURSOR t button toincrease it.You can also use the CURSOR (5/b) buttons toincrease/decrease the vertical zoom (audio level).Press the CURSOR 5 button to increase the verticalzoom (audio level), or the CURSOR b button todecrease it.Increasing the zoom makes it easier to cue precisely.5. Use the JOG/DATA dial to locate the cue point.6. After you find the cue point, press the JOG PLAYbutton to return to the Home screen.Jogging while listening to audio1. Use the transport buttons or other locate functionsto move the playback position near the positionwhere you want to cue playback.2. Press the JOG PLAY button to enter jog mode.If in waveform display mode, press the F1 key toswitch to timeline display.3. Use the CURSOR (g/t) buttons to increase/decrease the horizontal zoom (time) as necessary.Press the CURSOR (g) button to decrease thehorizontal zoom (time), or the CURSOR (t) button toincrease it .Increasing the zoom makes it easier to cue precisely.The jogging sound, which is the sound of a shortincrement being repeated, can be heard.4. While listening to the jog sound, use the JOG/DATAdial to locate the cue point.5. After you find the cue point, press the JOG PLAYbutton to return to the Home screen.NOTEThe transport buttons can be used even in jog mode.However, when the timeline is displayed, pressing the PLAYbutton switches between normal playback and jog playback,and pressing the STOP button activates jog playback.When in jog mode, you can move in 1/10 frame (1/300seconds) units. You can also set IN and OUT points with 1/10frame precision.
